Video Call and Screen Share

maaiiconnect lets you have more personal interactions with visitors, customers, and fellow Staff members through 1-on-1 video calls and screen sharing. With these features, you and your called party can see one another while having more interactive discussions and making sure you're both on the same page.

Starting a Video Call

You can start a video call with a customer, visitor, or staff member by clicking on the Video Call icon on the top-right corner of the chatroom panel.

If the called party is a fellow Staff member, their Workspace will display an incoming video call screen. The call screen also gives them the option to decline the call or pick it up as a voice call.

Switching from Voice Call to Video Call

While in a voice call with a visitor or a fellow Staff member, you can switch to video call by clicking on the Video Call button on your call screen.

  • Make sure that your browser has permission to access your camera. Check if your browser displays a pop-up dialogue message that requires your action.

On Safari web browsers:

  • A pop-up dialogue message will display the following: [your maaiiconnect Service Account] wants to: Use your camera
  • Click on Allow to proceed.

The video call will start as soon as your camera has been enabled.

You can also resize the video call window, or minimise it to the size of a widget.

To stop the video call, click on the Video Call button again.

To end the video call, click on the End Call button.

Using the Screen Share Feature

While in a video call with a visitor or a fellow Staff member, you or your called party can initiate screen sharing by clicking on the Screen Share button on your video call screen.

  • Make sure that your browser has permission to access the contents of your screen. Check if your browser displays a pop-up dialogue message that requires your action.

A. On Google Chrome browsers:

A pop-up dialogue message will display the following: [your maaiiconnect Service Account] wants to share the contents of your screen. Choose what you’d like to share.

It then provides several options, such as your entire screen, an application window, and other open browsers.

  • Select which screen from the available options you would like share.
  • Click on Share.

B. On Safari browsers:

A pop-up dialogue message will display the following: Allow [your maaiiconnect Service Account] to observe your screen? You can change this setting Safari Websites preferences.

  • Click on Allow.

To stop screen sharing, click on the Share Screen button again.

To end the call, click on the End Call icon.

Notes:

  • Only Staff members can initiate a video call.
  • Both Staff members and visitors can use the screen share feature, but may only do so using a desktop web browser.
