Sharing Files

In the maaiiconnect chatroom, Staff members and visitors may share the following files:

  • Images
  • Videos
  • Documents
  • Voice messages

 

Sharing Images, Videos, and Documents

To browse and select a file:

  • On the chatroom screen, tap the (+) icon located on the left side of the input text bar to access your document library.
  • On the open dialogue screen that will appear, browse for and tap to highlight the file you wish to share, then tap Next.

Sharing a document

To take photos or videos using your camera:

  • On the chatroom screen, tap the :camera: icon located on the left side of the input text bar then tap any of the following buttons that will appear:
    • Take a photo - to take a photo using your device's camera
    • Record a video - to record a video using your device's camera
  • After taking a photo or recording a video, tap Use Photo or Use Video, respectively.

To browse and select photos from the image gallery:

  • On the chatroom screen, tap the Gallery icon located on the left side of the input text bar to access your image gallery or photo album.
  • On the open dialogue screen that will appear, browse for and tap to highlight the photo(s) you wish to share, then tap Next.

Sending Voice Messages

To record and send voice messages:

  • On the chatroom screen, tap the Microphone icon located on the right side of the input text bar.
  • On the voice recorder pane that will appear, touch and hold the microphone icon to record your voice message.
  • Release the microphone icon to send your recorded voice message. Alternatively, if you want to cancel sending your recording, slide the microphone icon down before releasing it.

You can only send up to 10 files at a time.

Visitors can share up to 20 MB in size, while Staff members can share up to 200 MB.

A voice message cannot be longer than 3 minutes.

You can only suggest edits to Markdown body content, but not to the API spec.
